Self Identification

Four Sacred ArchetypesFour Sacred Archetypes
Sigils by Katrina / Graphics by Angela

Ivo has convinced me to open up and allow folks to self identify as artists, warriors, healers and stewards. So going forward feel free to use these titles in your self descriptions as warranted.

I am still interested in you finding your own specific take on each of these sacred paths.

Sensate Practices that Train the Mind and Free the Body

I read Wendy Palmer's book almost 10 years ago after studying with a teacher who shared some of Palmer's Conscious Embodiment practices. My coven adopted her book into our study/practice for an entire year. I share many of her principles and recommend this book in my classes and workshops.

To put it mildly, it is the best book on spiritual practice I have ever read. There is not a day that goes by that I do not either engage the entire Basic Practice, Dropped or Dropped & Open attentive state, or simply open to the not-knowing.

Thank you Wendy Palmer, though we have never met, you have change not only my life, but the lives of all my students.

**This book has been selected for the 2006/2007 Reflections book study. It is required reading for all Reflections students.

Shadows and Projections: Gazing into the Dark Mirror

With Katrina Messenger
Sunday, October 18, 2009
From 9:30a.m. to 5:30p.m.

The shadow contains the parts of self that one has not or cannot consciously accept. These characteristics often contradict our carefully constructed self-image or they represent socially unacceptable dreams or desires. It is often said that we spend the first half of our lives creating our shadow, and the last half reintegrating it back in order to become whole.

The first half of this class provides an introduction to the spiritual, social and cultural frameworks underlying shadow work - at the personal level, and in relationship to community. In the afternoon we will discuss some of the underlying structures of our personal and collective shadows. And we will learn the use of several tools and techniques that can be used within shadow work.

If there is interest, this class can be used to create a shadow group. A shadow group is a group of people who meet regularly to study and discuss their ongoing shadow work.

Course Fee: $75

Skills for Healers, Clergy & Teachers

with Katrina Messenger
Sunday, Jun 1, 2008
From 9:30 am to 5:30 pm

This course is primarily about boundaries and containers, and how to use these tools to create healing spaces and teachable moments. We will review the importance of having strong, flexible outer and inner boundaries, and how to use these boundaries to create an appropriate level of intimacy with our students, clients and patients.

We will discuss techniques to create various kinds of containers, including magical, healing and transformative. And we will also discuss topics such as ethics, privacy and discretion. And finally we will open the discussion up so that participants can share problems and concerns and get feedback and advice from the collective wisdom of all who have gathered.

This course is designed for people who have already made a commitment in their lives to the healing arts, the ministerial and priest/ess path, or teaching as a profession.

The Magick and Symbolism of Ancient Egypt

pyramidsWith Michael Smith (Gwydion Stormcrow)
Saturday, December 5, 2009
From 9:30a.m. to 5:30p.m.

For nearly 300 years, Ancient Egypt stood at the pinnacle of civilization. Its monuments, temples, tombs, and artifacts provide extensive and tantalizing clues as to the power of its people. No other nation in history has risen, fallen, and risen again in the way Egypt did during its considerable reign. Its religion, culture, technology, and magick left a lasting impression on societies that are considered to be part of the foundations of western societies, Greece and Rome. And today, over 2400 years since the last native Egyptian Pharaoh ruled, we are still fascinated by the mysteries and secrets of that ancient nation.

In this workshop we will explore the history, mythology, symbolism, magick and religion of Ancient Egypt. We will look at its temples, its tombs, its writings and its artifacts to catch a glimpse of the beliefs and ideas of this elder people. We will seek a balanced viewpoint between ‘Egyptians had intergalactic travel’ of the New Age fringe and ‘if it isn’t carved in stone it isn’t possible’ of orthodox Egyptology. In all of our explorations we will be seeking an answer to the questions ‘how does this affect magickal and spiritual practices today?’ and ‘how can I use this in my personal work and exploration?’

Course Fee: $75
