Katrina Messenger

KatrinaKatrinaKatrina Messenger, a radical feminist of African, Cherokee & Irish descent, is a refugee from the Marxist- Leninist, labor, feminist, and black nationalist movements of old. She now busies herself with revolutions of a more immediate nature - changing herself. A founding member of Dark Flame Coven, she finds inner peace and solace by sharing her hard won lessons with others who care to listen.

Katrina is also a poet, singer/songwriter, author, teacher, speaker and priestess. She has published articles in the Reclaiming Quarterly, contributed to the highly successful Twelve Wild Swans, and taught at Reclaiming witch camps for eight years. Katrina teaches classes in her local community, actively mentors up and coming leaders and provides logistical support for major political actions and community events. She is an elder in her community and a recognized leader and teacher worldwide.

In 1999 she inaugurated a magical working called Connect DC, to reconnect and heal the city of Washington, DC. Connect DC is committed to healing the city with magic, mystery and celebration, by publicly celebrating the equinoxes and solstices. Katrina is a full time shaman, an ordained minister and the founder of Reflections Mystery School.

Lisa Aerianna Tayerle

AeriannaAeriannaAerianna identifies herself as a witch, artist and professional gardener. For her all three are a way to work WITH and IN nature. It was her relationship with nature that led her to witchcraft, not the other way around. Aerianna believes it is important to work the energetic, psychic, and symbolic aspects of nature, but we must not only honor nature in the abstract, but know and understand nature in the physical. If we are going to live balanced magical lives and help heal the earth, we must develop a more personal relationship with the earth.

Aerianna uses her traditional degrees and training in Architecture, Design, Fine Arts, and Horticulture together with her Magical training and wilderness experience to create a personalized teaching style that combines experiential nature emersion, ritual, horticultural knowledge, and hands-on art/craft techniques.

Michael Sylvan Robinson

SylvanSylvanBaltimore artist and teacher, Michael Sylvan Robinson, is a Queer man with a lifelong commitment to Feminism. Finding inspiration in the iconography and symbolism of our ancestral artists, he re-examines the role of Artist as mystic and messenger. He has led workshops across the country, in artistic and spiritual spaces, in academic and educational settings. In 2008, he earned an M.F.A. in Interdisciplinary Arts from Goddard College, and he has a B.A. from Bennington College (1989) with an emphasis in dance, drama, and literature. Robinson’s interdisciplinary art practice investigates the embodiment of spirit within a discourse of gender and sexual identity; it is rooted in the mediums of mixed media and textiles, ritual drama and installation, poetry and creative nonfiction. Originally a costume designer and performance artist from New York City, his art has been shown in galleries and exhibitions including the National Queer Arts Festival in San Francisco (2009).
